Spilled Gas

It's not just the inefficient designs and pollution belching tendanceis of our small engines that hurts our enviroment. According to the E.P.A.. we can add to that more than 17 million gallons of fuel that gets spilled during the refueling of gas powered lawn and garden equipment. Spilled fuel contaminates the ground and will kill surrounding plants, as well as getting into our watersheds. The gas we spill also evaporates into the air we breath! Spilling a shot-glass (1 oz) of gasoline creates the same amount of smog-forming volatile organic compounds (VOCs) as driving a car 25 miles.
